EXPLORE RECOVERY FAMILIA

More than recovery. We’re family.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION GUIDE

Real connection starts with respect.

Recovery Familia is a peer community, not a clinical treatment program or emergency service. These principles shape how public conversations will operate.

Before posting

Share only what belongs to you. You will not be expected to provide a sobriety date, treatment history, medical information, full name, address or employer to take part. Respect other people’s privacy, including loved ones, meeting participants and staff.

Make conversations useful

Write from your own experience. Offer support without lecturing, shaming or diagnosing others. If someone chooses not to answer a personal question, that choice is final. Avoid directing someone to stop medication, change treatment or ignore professional advice.

Use the right room

First steps belong in Starting the Journey; everyday reflections in Daily Connection; successes in the Victory Wall; family perspectives in Family & Supporters; other topics have their own clearly labeled spaces. A moderator may move a thread to the most relevant category with an explanation.

Understand review and reporting

New posts and replies will be held for review before becoming public. Reporting, removal, escalation and fair appeals are prerequisites for launch. Do not post threats, harassment, private contact details, copyrighted material without permission, spam or unverified treatment claims.

Support in a crisis

Forum volunteers cannot guarantee immediate responses. In the United States, call 911 for immediate danger or call or text 988 for emotional crisis support. For medical concerns, contact an appropriate licensed professional.
